The SES – Supplemental Education Services – program established under the No Child Left Behind Act gives low-income children a unique opportunity to get one-on-one tutoring in subjects like math, reading and language arts – free of charge. Tutoring Unlimited provides SES tutoring services.

Tutoring Unlimited is an approved provider of tutoring services under Title I of the No Child Left Behind Act. The program is referred to as the SES – Supplemental Education Services – program.

To be approved under SES, tutoring service providers must have a track record for raising student achievement in subject areas such as math, reading and language arts. Tutoring Unlimited has a good record of success. Our one-on-one approach to tutoring gives children the extra time and attention they need in order to improve.

Free tutoring under the SES program

If your school has not made adequate progress under No Child Left Behind in the past three years, and if your child is eligible for free or reduced lunch, we can provide your child with free tutoring services. You will receive a list of tutoring services in your area. After you’ve made your choice, you tell the school which service provider you want to work with. The school district makes a contract with the provider and pays for the tutoring, with funds from the federal government.

If you choose Tutoring Unlimited, you will meet with your tutor and people from the school to set goals for your child and a schedule of services. We will provide you with progress reports throughout the tutoring program.

SES tutoring services are typically offered after school, but they can also be scheduled before school, on weekends or during the summer. The tutor can come to your home, or tutoring sessions can be held at a local library, church or community center.
