Mathematics
Tutoring Unlimited offers one-on-one in-home tutoring in a full range of math courses including foundational math, pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, ACT/SAT math. Tutoring for additional, specialized math subjects can be arranged upon request.
Our tutors personalize math instruction according to the unique needs of each student. Students get practical, hands-on opportunities to practice and master math concepts. We assess your child’s math learning style and build the tutoring program around it.
Reading
Our tutors provide comprehensive in-home reading improvement services for students of all ages and all skill levels – even good readers! Students learn to excel in phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, literature and speed reading.
Students without effective reading skills are often frustrated in the classroom, do poorly on tests and develop a dislike for school and learning. The longer parents wait to improve their child’ s reading, the longer it takes the child to catch up.
Tutoring Unlimited can help improve reading skills at every level:
- Preschoolers and young children (4-6 years old) who may be at risk for developing reading problems.
- Children in elementary school (6-11 years old) who are making slow progress in acquiring reading skills.
- Middle and high school students (11-18 years old) who read slowly and have trouble with reading comprehension, homework and taking tests.
- Adults (18 years and older) who have a history of reading and spelling problems and a slow reading speed.
Tutoring Unlimited offers assessments and tutoring for students with dyslexia
Dyslexia is a language-based learning disability. It is not a vision problem, and it does not indicate low intelligence.
Reading and spelling often prove difficult for someone with dyslexia, even though dyslexic children and adults may excel at speaking and oral language. Some can understand information they hear, yet are unable to read it.
Tutoring Unlimited can arrange for dyslexia testing and tutor children and adults with this condition.

Course/Credit Recovery
An incomplete course can seriously interfere with a student’s academic progress, whether it’s passing to the next grade, graduating from high school or getting into college.
Tutoring Unlimited provides professional academic instruction to help students complete all elementary, middle, and high school courses. We work seamlessly with your school to meet all academic requirements.
Our tutors not only help your child master the subject matter but impart new learning and study skills that help when they return to a normal classroom.
Learning Challenges
Students with learning challenges get the best results in a one-on-one learning environment. Research – and our 25 years of experience – have shown this to be true.
Our in-home tutors help your child focus and build skills in virtually any subject area, K-12. They can work with your child throughout the school year or in intensive course recovery programs in summer school or during school breaks.
Your child’s tutor can help him or her develop strategies to support success in school, as well as in life, such as study skills, time management, priority setting and more.
No Child Left Behind (Supplemental Education Services or SES)
Tutoring Unlimited is an approved provider of tutoring services under Title I of the ‘No Child Left Behind’ act.
The Title I Supplemental Education Services (SES) program, funded by the federal government, provides free tutoring to students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch at selected schools. The program is designed to improve students’ skills in reading, writing and mathematics.
To be approved under SES, tutoring service providers must have a track record for raising student achievement in these subject areas. Tutoring Unlimited tutors are qualified educators who can give your child the extra time and one-on-one attention they need in order to improve.

Our Tutors Are Professional Educators
Tutoring Unlimited tutors are qualified professionals who undergo careful screening, including a background and reference check.
Matching tutor strengths to student needs
The relationship between tutors and their students fundamentally affects the learning process. Our in-home tutors all have strong professional qualifications, but we take extra steps to make sure they will complement students’ personalities and work well given the student’s learning style, strengths and weaknesses.
Our tutors work closely with parents.
Typically, tutoring sessions take place in the presence of a parent or a parent-approved representative. Sessions can take place at home, at school, in the public library, at church or elsewhere.
At the end of every tutoring session, the tutor sends a written or electronic “Notes Home” report to the parent. This summarizes objectives, progress and any “next step” activities that will reinforce and extend learning.
Our tutors also conference with parents throughout the tutoring commitment to assure the clear communication of student goals and progress.
